Hunters Education Course

Firearm safety and handling
Wildlife identification

Conservation and wildlife management

Hunter responsibilities and etiquette
Who Needs It:
First-time hunters in Alberta are required to complete the Alberta Hunter Education Certification Program before they can purchase a wildlife certificate or hunting licence.
Course Format:
Only offered in-person
Ends with a multiple-choice exam
Upon passing, participants receive a Wildlife Identification Number (WIN) to purchase licences

Program Details
Attendance: Participants must attend all four days of the program.
Age Requirement: Open to youth ages 10 and up.
Cost: $75.00 per student (includes all instruction and materials).
